Many people think that as long as a bathroom has a sink, toilet, shower and/or bathtub, and some cabinets or storage areas, they already have it made and that there is no need to further make it look lovelier and appealing. This is, of course, wrong. Everyone can make their bathrooms more appealing. And you don’t have to spend a fortune to do so.
Below are some creative, affordable and easy ways you can try to liven up and improve the interior of your bathroom:
Place some colored candles in the bathroom and display them nicely. Candles are great for mood lighting just like in spas. If you pick the scented kinds, you automatically get an instant deodorizer as well. This is really helpful especially if you have guests coming over and they visit the bathroom repeatedly.
Buy and use a mosaic kit (which is very affordable) and go wild with the design you can create to cover or replace damaged tiles. You can even take out other tiles to further enhance the new colorful tiling in your bathroom.
Use multi-tiered trays (usually used for food) to organize bath essentials and to beautifully display them. If you don’t have any multi-tiered tray, you can stack plates and candle holders for the multi-leveled display.
Organize your cotton, flosses, make-up brushes, etc. on a DIY wall organizer. Utilize the wall and free up some space near your sink by getting a plank of wood, some Mason jars (or any old jars of the same size), hose clamps, a picture hanging kit, a drill and screws. To complete your wall organizer, attach the jars to the plank of wood by using the screwed-in hose clamps and mount this on the wall using a picture hanging kit. This wall organizer will hold several of your bathroom essentials. This organizer is not only useful, but it has a country appeal as well that can help add to the charm of your bathroom.
Make a pebble mat and place it on the floor to get a spa feel for your bathroom. You can easily buy pebbles from crafts stores and you can use an old rubber mat you have. Using some strong contact adhesive, glue all the pebbles to the mat.
Lastly, if you don’t have any shelves in the bathroom to hold towels, hang a wine rack on the wall. Home renovation consultants say the wine rack will not take up too much space and it can hold several towel rolls which you can arrange strategically to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing effect.
